Jessica has lost her job and her apartment. In her desperation, she steals money she feels she's owed. However, upon reconsideration, she decides to return the money to the safe where she found it... only to be seen by intrepid newspaper photographer Peter Parker, who is doing some contract work in Los Angeles. Believing he has just witnessed a robbery, Spider-Man pursues Spider-Woman through the unfamiliar city, and the two similarly-named, completely-unrelated superheroes meet for the first time.
